Carmen Rodríguez-Peralta, pianist, and Orlando Cela, flutist, will perform a recital devoted to Peruvian works inspired by Indigenous melodies, rhythms, and instruments. Historical and cultural background information will be presented. Piano solos by Pablo Chávez Aguilar and Enrique Iturriaga, a flute solo by Celso Garrico-Lecca, and pieces for flute and piano by Clotilde Arias, Andrés Sás, Jorge Villavicencio Grossmann, and Gabriela Lena Frank will be performed.
